What is Republic Wireless?
Republic Wireless is an American virtual mobile network provider, offering low-cost cell phone service that defaults to WiFi. Republic is falling back on agreements with two regional wireless networks, either T-Mobile or Sprint when WiFi is not available. It is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. They don’t support any Apple iPhone (as of October 2018).

On November 8, 2011, Republic Wireless began beta service with the LG Optimus S and later the Motorola Defy XT in July 2012. On November 19, 2012, Republic Wireless terminated its private beta and converted it to a free, public beta.
Republic Wireless announced its spin-off from Bandwidth.com on December 1, 2016. A new physical device called Relay. Republic Wireless released it on December 6, 2017. To enable communication between it, other relay devices, and a companion smartphone app, this screen-less device uses LTE and WiFi.

Republic Wireless routes all mobile phone usage via WiFi, using cellular networks as a backup. WiFi calling technology from the operator is unique to telecommunications providers, and you will not be able to bring your phone into your network.
Republic Wireless has now simplified their data plans, making it much simpler for you to find the package that’s good.
All plans start with an unrestricted call and textbase of $15 a month. If you don’t need any cellular data (and only want to use WiFi for the Internet), you can just stop here, and you’re finished.
If you want to have cellular data, it is very simple to add.
Just add $5 for every 1 GB of data.
1GB of data – $15 + $5 = $20 / month
2GB of data – $15 + $10 = $25 / month
3GB of data – $15 + $15 = $30 / month
4GB of data – $15 + $20 = $35 / month
How can you change your Plan?
It’s quick to change your data plan, and you don’t even need to talk to anyone to do it.
Use the Republic Wireless app on your phone to make a change, and you can make as many changes as you like. A full list of instructions on how to adjust your wireless plan can be found here.
